Chairlift Ride – scenic sightseeing and hiking

Sept. 30 & Oct. 1, Oct. 7 & 8 and Oct. 14&15

Chairlift Hours: 10am-3pm

Lift tickets: $15+tax/person or $45+tax/per family (max. 4 people)

Pre-purchase lift tickets online at skiwentworth.ca. Redeem your ticket the day of the event at the kiosk building (next to the rental shop) or at the main office. We will announce soon when tickets are available for online purchase.

For a spectacular view of the leaves, ride the chairlift to the top of Wentworth Mountain. Get some exercise and fresh air walking back down the mountain. Please note: this is a one way trip only. There is no transportation down the mountain. This is a ski hill – and terrain is uneven. Wear appropriate footwear and be aware of your surroundings. Its recommended participants are in good physical condition, as the hike down can be physically demanding. There is no age limit, it’s up to parent/guardian discretion.

There is no chairlift mountain bike access. Sorry, no pets allowed on the chairlift.

The Barn will be to grab a bite and cool down after your hike with a nice cold beverage on tap. Check out the new menu.

Cross country ski trails update

Feb. 6, 2023 update: The cross country ski trails located at the top of the mountain were assessed last week. Trees were cleared after the hurricane, but the ice storm a couple weeks ago brought down more trees. Unfortunately, we will not be able to open the XC trails this season. The plan is this summer to begin tree removal again.

90th Anniversary Commemorative Posters

To celebrate its 90th year, Wentworth commissioned a series of five limited edition screen prints, each capturing significant moments in its development.  Each poster is screen printed limited edition. These are available in the main office at $50+hst each. There are only 90 of each poster, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Major Announcement

New chairlift for 2022-23 season
Ski Wentworth is thrilled to announce the installation of a new Doppelmayr fixed grip quad chairlift for the 2022-23 season. Construction is scheduled to begin spring 2022. The full mountain access lift will double current uphill capacity and decrease lift lines. With the loading station located close to the base of the bunny hill, the ride up will pass through a beautiful treed area before rising above Helter Skelter and unloading next to the current blue chair. Ski Wentworth is currently serviced by a quad chairlift constructed in 1987 and a T-Bar installed in the late 1950’s.
“This is a game changer,” said Leslie Wilson, Ski Wentworth President and General Manager. “It’s been a long time coming, but the timing was right now to make a major investment and take Ski Wentworth to the next level, setting the stage for potential four season development.”
This is the single largest infrastructure investment at Ski Wentworth in over a decade. The ski area benefitted from significant investment in snowmaking and trail development for the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
Now is the time to continue to the next phase of Ski Wentworth’s development as the region moves towards the post-pandemic era. As a result of a renewed focus on promoting local tourism to Nova Scotians and Maritimers, a burgeoning tourism shoulder season with Fall Festival of Colours and mountain biking, development of new tourism products and an increasing awareness of healthy, outdoor lifestyles, Ski Wentworth is primed for the future.
Ski Wentworth has been locally owned and operated by the Wilson family for three generations. Dave Wilson, who passed away in 2020, was a passionate skier who always kept true to his vision of Ski Wentworth becoming the ‘Valley of Dreams”. This new chairlift will be in his honour.
Ski Wentworth and the Wilson family would like to thank all its staff, season pass holders, skiers and snowboarders old and new for the continued support over the decades. The joy of skiing is what keeps us embracing winter and returning to the beautiful Wentworth Valley.
